A Real Plan for Real Action. Tell Doug Ford we need a carbon budget

We are in a climate emergency. We must act now.

Ontarians need bold, urgent government action to tackle the climate emergency. That’s why it is alarming that Doug Ford rejected the Ontario Greens’ Carbon Budget Bill 32 and said no to crushing climate pollution.

Doug Ford needs to stop building more highways like Highway 413 and the Holland Marsh Highway that would further drive up climate pollution. Instead he needs to embrace the Ontario Green’s Roadmap to Net-Zero and establish a carbon budget for Ontario.

Ontarians deserve to know the numbers.

The climate crisis is here and we need bold, urgent government action. We need to reduce carbon pollution and commit to being net-zero by 2045. And Ontarians deserve to know how we’re doing.

Mike Schreiner’s Bill 32 would have made it mandatory for the government to report on Ontario’s emissions reduction progress each and every year. And what the government will do to reduce climate pollution.

And yet I am alarmed that your government chose to defeat this Bill.

Rejecting legislation that would provide real action on climate will not save Ontario from the climate catastrophe.

Ontario doesn’t need more highways like Highway 413 or the Holland Marsh Highway. Instead we need real climate leadership that takes this crisis seriously and commits to crushing climate pollution.

Ontario Greens’ are proposing a real plan for real action on climate that provides a roadmap to making the cleaner and brighter future all Ontarians want; the future I want.

I’m calling on you to embrace the Ontario Greens’ Roadmap to Net-Zero and commit to establishing a carbon budget.
