This pandemic has exposed deep gaps in how we care for each other. It has pushed pause and forced us to re-examine the way we work, live and play.

The choices we make today about how to reboot our lives will shape how we live for generations to come.

The path we were on was not sustainable or just. The old path did not adequately care for the people and places we love.

So let’s choose a different path.

Dear Premier:

We have faced some significant challenges in the last seven months. There are more to come.

I know that your government will be making big decisions in the coming months. About how to restart our economy, how to ensure public health and serve the people of Ontario.

The decisions you make in the next months are so important. We have an opportunity to move our province forward.

I urge you to take the following principles into consideration as you move forward with plans for recovery:

- Uphold our new respect for workers
- Re-energize climate action with good jobs
- Buy Ontario and protect local food and water
- Reimagine our cities and neighbourhoods 
- Support our local independent businesses

Premier, building back faster by dismantling the rules and regulations that protect the people and places we love is not the right approach. There is a better way.

We’ve worked together as Ontarians to get through this crisis. And we can work together to build back smarter.
