Justice for Grassy Narrows

The people of Grassy Narrows deserve justice now. Tell Doug Ford to act on his promise to clean up the mercury poisoning the Grassy Narrows territory. After 60 years, we can’t delay any longer.

The mercury poisoning in Grassy Narrows, and the subsequent health impacts on the community, is a stain on Ontario’s history and for decades governments have failed to act to protect residents.

For far too long the legacy parties in Ontario have ignored the health and safety of the people of Grassy Narrows.

Ontario Greens are calling on Doug Ford to:

Act on his promise to clean up the mercury that is poisoning the Grassy Narrows territory
Work with the federal government to provide clean drinking water to residents
Restore the culture of the Grassy Narrows First Nations by acknowledging their 2018 land declaration and stopping industrial and mining projects on their territories.

We’re already 60 years too late in helping the people of Grassy Narrows. We can’t afford to wait any longer.

The people of Grassy Narrows don’t need the threat of more contamination.

What they need, what they deserve, is the basic human right of clean water and soil.

We’re already 60 years too late. We can’t afford to wait any longer.

- Act on your promise to clean up the mercury that is poisoning the Grassy Narrows territory
   - Work with the federal government to provide clean drinking water to residents
   - Restore the culture of the Grassy Narrows First Nations by acknowledging their 2018 land declaration and stopping industrial and mining projects on their territories
