The federal government quietly announced that they’re not willing to run an environmental review of Highway 413. This gives the greenlight for Doug Ford to pave over the Greenbelt with Highway 413 and it means we’re the only ones left standing in Doug Ford’s way to stop this highway.
That’s why we need your help to stand up for the people and places we love.
Internal documents show the proposed route for Highway 413 will cut through protected wetlands and prime farmland and slice through the Greenbelt.
It will increase flooding by destroying wetlands, hurt local farmers, increase air pollution, and damage water quality. All to save commuters an estimated 30 seconds at most.
Ontarians don’t need another highway. They need a government that will stand up for the interests of local communities, farmers, the environment, and future generations.
Ontario Greens are calling on Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria to reconsider his decision and to conduct an environmental review on Highway 413.
Will you stand with us?
