Protect species-at-risk from Ontario Place destruction

Ontario Place was built to be a public space for public interest. Its redevelopment is an opportunity to preserve and expand the public resource it was always meant to be. To create a giant urban park that could help mitigate the effects of climate change.

Instead of protecting the space for people and the endangered species that call Ontario Place home, Ford wants to bulldoze the land to build a giant glass megaspa.

In the process, they’ll destroy the habitats of many endangered and threatened species that live on the West Island and in the waters around it.

Ontario Greens are calling on Minister of Infrastructure Kinga Surma to cancel the deal with Therme and commit to keeping public lands in public hands.
